Information you choose to give us
When you join an occasion list, we collect your email address, the occasion you selected, the signup source, and the date of the request. If you contact us, we receive the information in your message. When paid products launch, the checkout provider will collect the information needed to complete and document the order.
- We do not receive or store full payment-card numbers.
- We do not require an account to read the planning guides or download the standard free Ready Page.
- Personalized Ready Page answers stay focused on planning status and are not designed to collect names, addresses, medical details, or guest information.
Information collected as you use the site
The site creates a random browser identifier in local storage. It helps us count guide views, Ready Page activity, product-page clicks, and the path a visitor chose without asking for a name. We may also record the guide, destination link, broad planning answers, referral campaign tags such as UTM parameters, and timestamps.
Cloudflare may process standard request and security information, including IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, and threat signals, to host and protect the website.
How we use information
- Deliver requested downloads and product orders.
- Send the occasion updates or planning emails a subscriber requested.
- Understand which guides and planning tools are useful.
- Attribute visits and conversions to campaigns such as Pinterest pins.
- Protect the site, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and keep required business records.
- Comply with law and enforce our policies.
Email choices
Submitting an email signup form asks us to send the occasion updates described beside that form. Every marketing email will include an unsubscribe method. You may also email hello@theshortplan.com. Transactional messages about an order may still be sent when needed to deliver or support that purchase.
Service providers and sharing
We use Cloudflare for hosting, security and database storage, and Brevo for email-list management and delivery. A payment and digital-delivery provider will process purchases when checkout launches; its identity and terms will be shown at checkout. These providers receive only the information needed to perform their services.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the site, or as part of a business transfer. We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies and local storage
The site uses local browser storage for a random measurement identifier. Cloudflare may set essential security cookies. As of this policy date, The Short Plan does not use third-party advertising pixels or behavioral-advertising cookies. Clearing browser storage resets the site identifier. We will update this policy and any required consent controls before adding materially different tracking.
Retention and security
Signup records are kept while you remain subscribed and as needed to honor an unsubscribe request. Order and tax records may be retained for legally required periods. Pseudonymous site-event records are generally retained for up to 24 months unless a longer period is needed for security, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No internet service can promise perfect security, so please do not send sensitive personal, medical, financial, or payment information by email.
Your choices and privacy rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information associated with your email, or withdraw an email subscription. Applicable state or national law may provide additional rights. Send a request to hello@theshortplan.com. We may need to verify that the request concerns your information.
Children
The Short Plan is designed for adults planning personal occasions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website, providers or legal obligations change. The updated date at the top will show when a revision took effect. A material change affecting subscribers will be communicated when appropriate.
